
McKenzie Garrison named Director of Marketing & Communications
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA National Office has announced McKenzie Garrison as the Director of Marketing & Communications. Garrison previously served as the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications and joined the National Office in July 2018 upon its relocation to Charlotte, NC.
In her new role, Garrison will oversee all national office and athletics communications and marketing activities. She will also manage the NJCAA Network and post-season marketing and communications coverage for NJCAA championships.
"McKenzie has been one of the most accomplished individuals in the national office and we are excited to see her role continue to grow," said Dr. Christopher Parker, NJCAA President & CEO. "The difference she has made for our association is evident and her professionalism is appreciated by everyone in our office and throughout membership. We look forward to seeing her grow in her new role."
In August 2019, Garrison was promoted to Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications after serving as the Marketing & Communications Associate for a year. As Assistant Director, Garrison was responsible for assisting with all internal and external marketing efforts, media relations creation and execution, and providing support for sports communications and championship events.
Garrison has served an integral role in the national office as the NJCAA has launched new initiatives and updated the association's brand, including the newly revamped NJCAA website and NJCAA Network. Leading the marketing and communications department, Garrison will serve as a member of the NJCAA leadership team to carry out the goals and vision of the national association.

"Since joining the National Office in 2018, I have greatly enjoyed telling the story of the association and the opportunities it provides to 60,000 student-athletes each year. I look forward continuing to promote the NJCAA in my new role."
A native of North Carolina, Garrison was born and raised in Newton, NC. She earned her undergraduate degree in Sport Management in 2017 from Catawba College in Salisbury, NC where she was a member of the women's volleyball team for four years. Upon graduating, she continued her education at the University of South Carolina in Columbia and earned a Master's in Sport and Entertainment Management in December 2018.
