
#NJCAAReplay Game of the Week Oct. 29
On Thursday, Oct. 29, the NJCAA Network, the new home for NJCAA digital content will re-air the 2019 NJCAA DII Women's Basketball Championship quarterfinal between No. 2 North Iowa Area and No. 7 Cape Fear (NC). The game was nothing short of exciting as it broke two NJCAA DII Women's Basketball Tournament records. The Sea Devils broke the previous record for most team points in a game from 2002 with 116 total points. Both Cape Fear and North Iowa Area recorded the highest combined score with 221 points, surpassing the 2015 record of 215.
A battle of two high-scoring offenses, the Sea Devils set off to a quick lead and were ahead 15 points at the game's half. Ny Langley recorded a career-high 31 points with 4 rebounds and and was key in the upset. Freshman Jada Buford dominated the floor for the Trojans with 34 points and 4 rebounds and teammate Autam Mendez contributed 21 points and 12 crucial rebounds. The Trojans went on to play in a consolation game the next day but fell to Pima (AZ), finishing the season 28-7. The Sea Devils lost to Kansas City Kansas and won again Lackawanna (PA) to finish third overall, rounding out their season with a 28-5 record.
The North Iowa Area and Cape Fear game is the sixth of the reoccurring NJCAA Replay game of the week, highlighting one flashback game every Thursday night on the NJCAA Network.
