NJCAA partners with Women Leaders in College Sports
Women Leaders in College Sports is the nation’s premier women’s athletic leadership association
Kansas City, MO—Women Leaders in College Sports, the nation's premier women's athletic leadership association that develops, connects, and advances women working in intercollegiate athletics announced today a partnership with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
The goals of the partnership are to increase awareness within NJCAA institutions of the Women Leaders organization, programs, and resources that can assist women in their career advancement; and also to collaborate with the NJCAA to highlight opportunities for advancement, and create additional programming to advance more women into leadership roles.
"Women Leaders in College Sports is an outstanding organization with many years of professional success and passion to further develop the skillsets for professional leadership and growth," says Christopher Parker, executive director of the NJCAA.
Within the partnership, the more than 500 member institutions within the NJCAA are encouraged to join Women Leaders as institutional members. All members included on each institutional roster can immediately take advantage of the organization's many member benefits, including the Women Leaders National Convention, Leadership Institutes, Rising Stars program, Member Circles, Mentorship Program, Happy Hours, and more.
Parker is encouraged by the opportunity for leadership growth for women within the NJCAA, which is currently counts 26,000 women student-athletes (44%) and 69 women athletic directors (13.8%) across its three athletic divisions. "The NJCAA is committed to developing all of its leadership, but we are extremely proud to partner with Women Leaders in College Sports so we can provide women the opportunity to learn and grow from the best in the business," he says.
